Sunrise has a different meaning in the more recent years since becoming a mother. As a young girl I was never a morning person, and I could sleep well into the afternoons without any thought. Light filling up my bedroom, meant pulling the blankets tighter over my face while groaning with disbelief that I had slept a full nights sleep. Early rising was for school days only and I followed this unspoken rule with ease and pleasure into adulthood.

Most people think the Cape shuts down in the winter, and it sort of does, but I have these wonderful “go-to” spots that are open year-round. One of my favorite things to do is get out of the house early, right after my oldest goes to school, and take the baby out to a café for some coffee (toast and eggs for her) and people watching.

New England has some of the coldest winters, ever. So far this winter has been pretty mild, and so Wesliegh is rocking tights/tunics until further notice! I love layers for Wesleigh, and there is nothing sweeter than babies in winter whites. I got these amazingly cozy, and comfy (also eco-friendly) ivory tights while I was shopping local during the holiday season.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with amazing pizza and a modern but cozy atmosphere, then you have to try my favorite place, Pizza Barbone in Hyannis. It is definitely still a hidden gem on Cape Cod, but only because it’s doors opened 3 short years ago. Not only is the menu fresh and creative, but also I have never had a meal I didn’t love! They even grow their own veggies on a super-cool roof top garden.
